Joy graduated from Mildred High School and Navarro College with an Associate’s degree in Childcare. Joy enjoyed being with her family, relaxing in the water and having her nails done. She loved walking and was always first in the fit bit challenges with all of her team. She beat her dad every week in the challenges and helped him push himself after knee surgery and rehab.
She was loved by everyone and she loved everyone. She loved her Cali Cat. As many people know she was an overcomer, she didn’t let her vision problems hold her back from anything. She knew her Lord as her Savior and He was always by her side wherever she went, so there was nothing to fear. Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, or discouraged, for the Lord is with you wherever you go”. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. (Two of her favorite Bible verses)
Joy is survived by her long-time companion, Marvin Mason; her father, Cloyce Praytor; her mother Carol Crumpton Givens and husband, Mike; her sister, Joyce Callahan and husband Cody; her nephew, Dakota Callahan and Shelby Gist, and her niece Anna Callahan. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Bro.
