Eva lived in the Dawson area for over 50 years. She worked in housekeeping in nursing homes and hospitals and took care of her family and her house. She loved to crochet and never met a stranger. She would invite everyone she met into her home and she would then be their good friend forever. She loved to talk, both in person and on the phone. She didn’t know how to have a brief conversation (so her family said).
She loved her cats and her dogs. She really cared for all animals. She loved to work in the yard and grow plants for everyone to enjoy. She loved to cook tamales and bake pineapple cake and loved teaching and cherishing her grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Cristina Pineda and husband Pablo of Malone, Texas and Jesus Contreras of Farmers Branch, Texas. Eva is also survived by five great grandchildren; Anabel Marin, Berenice Pineda, Pablo Pineda, Jr., Jesus Contreras, Jr. and Arturo Contreras. Eva leaves behind to cherish the times they spent together her good friend, Herlinda Nesmith.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM followed by the Rosary at 8:00PM at Corley Funeral Home.
