Julie was born on May 1st, 2000 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Frank Weger and Mary Christa Southerland Weger. She was a high school graduate of Rouse High School and was enrolled at Austin Community College where she was pursuing a degree in Adult Sign Language.
From a very early age, Julie was always a unique loving soul who possessed a creative and sensitive soul. She was not afraid to speak her mind and beat to her own drum in life. Anyone who was blessed to be a part of her life knew how loyal and special she was. Julie thrived in helping others and always had a heart for the underdog. She loved her cat (Bee) and her two dogs (Ripley and Poppy). She had many ambitions and hobbies which included a passion for music. One of her favorite pastimes was attending concerts and supporting the musicians she enjoyed.
Julie loved the lyrics from the song Livin’ Ain't Easy by one of her favorite bands, The Menzingers - “..in vibrant hues and subtle brush strokes of memory…” which happened to be the concert she attended the night of the accident. Julie lived her life with vibrant hues such as these lyrics speak. We can hold on to this as now we live through the memories we shared with her during her life here with us, and carry forward knowing how vibrant she made each of our lives.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Frank Weger SR. Julie will be forever missed by her father, Frank Weger and devoted brother, Wesley Weger. She will also be forever missed by her grandparents Joan Weger, Austin & Joanne Nixon and Troy & Judy Southerland, her numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
The memorial service for Christa and Julie was held on November 23rd, 2019 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel and was officiated by Dan Dever.
