Charles (Sambo) Lloyd McCrory passed away November 7, 2019 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
Charles was born on April 16, 1936 in Emhouse to Edgar and Louise Sis McCrory.
Charles retired from Chattanooga Glass, shortly after he purchased a wrecker service and started a Transportation Company with his wife Jan.
Charles loved farming, tending to his cattle and just being on the farm. He and wife Jan enjoyed attending tractor pulls, fishing and spending time with their grandchildren. Charles had an outgoing personality, loved to tell stories and make everyone laugh. He met and made many friends along the way and was thought of highly and loved by all that knew him. Charles’s presence and personality will be greatly missed but the memories of him will always be cherished and not forgotten.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Mike Carney, brother in law Jim Schroeder and wife Jan.
Charles leaves behind sons; Chuck and wife Betty, Randy McCrory, and Scott McCrory, step children; Paul Flanagan and wife Dusty, Paula Platt and husband Greg, sister; Katie Jo Schroeder; grandchild, Heather Dowd, great grandchildren; Malory and Emory Dowd, nephews; Mark Carney, Tim Carney and Rusty Potter, and special friends and caretakers Rocio Santillan and Angela Montfort.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 10am in the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charky Marquis officiating. Pallbearers are Mark Carney, Tim Carney, Rusty Potter, Charles Knott, Andy Owen and Paul Flanagan. Honorary pallbearers are Oscar McCrory, Mike McCrory, Gene Grace, George Upshaw and JW Bottoms. Burial will follow at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse, Texas
