Obituary

Mary Lou Smith, age 76, of Frost passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Twilight Nursing Home. She was born December 22, 1942 in San Angelo, Texas to Severn Jackson and E. Lynn Parker Jackson.
Mary Lou moved to Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 7 where she lived with her paternal grandmother, Nora Thornton Parker until the age of 13.

Mary Lou met and married Roger Marshall from Kingsville, Texas on February 17, 1958.

She had a great love for her small dogs, Trixie and Lil’Bit. She enjoyed country life with David, where they gardened, cooked, canned and play bickered at each other to show their great love for one another. Mary Lou was spoiled by David and he would often surprise her with gifts, which she very much enjoyed.

Many of her friends new her as “Mary” especially Linda, Cassi, Barbara, Angelica and Jim.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Shirley Honeycutt Jackson, stepfather, John Somerville; sisters, Vera Sue Jackson and Johnna Somerville.

She is survived by her husband, David Smith; sons, Stephen Marshall and wife Dena, grandson, Garret and granddaughter, Mariah; Stuart Marshall and wife Eva, grandson, Chad and wife Emily; great grandson, Logan; sisters, Sandra Kelly, Nancy Imka and husband Tim, Connie Nichols, Tamra Ziems and husband Larry; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the Twilight Home of Corsicana, Texas for all the love and compassion shown to Mary Lou over the last several years.

A Memorial service is scheduled at 2:00pm Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Stephen Marshall officiating.

An online guestbook is available at www.corleyfuneralhome.com and selecting the Mary Lou Nunez-Smith obituary.
