Mrs. Ima Lee Brannon King, age 98, a longtime Corsicana resident passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Twilight Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 5, 1920 in Axtell, Texas to Charlie and Jesse Lee Brannon.

She lived most of her life in Corsicana where she met the love of her life, Edgar Tyson King. They were married on July 3, 1941 and were married for 62 years. From a very young age she worked rolling hot tamales for her step-father Will Carpenter. She was a long-time employee of the Collin Street Bakery.
Mrs. King loved to watch all types of sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but her favorite sporting activities to watch were those in which her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated. She was also a fan of wrestling, and she enjoyed working puzzles and playing scrabble.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Eddie King, Jr., son-in-law Charles "Lum" Renfro and four brothers and one sister.
Mrs. King is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann (King) Renfro of Dawson; her daughter-in-law Brenda King of Tyler; her sister Polly Mullins of Greenville, her brother Billy Joe Carpenter of New Jersey and her sister-in-law Betty Carpenter of Corsicana. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Robin Harkins of Dawson, Colin “Bud” Renfro and wife Kim of Dawson, Darren Renfro and wife Jana of Waxahachie, Lance King and wife Heidi of Tyler, Chad King and wife Courtney of Athens and eight great grandchildren. She will be remembered with love and affection by her several nieces and nephews that survived her and she will be truly missed by her beloved granddog, Charley Rufus.

Visitation with the family will held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Corley Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 with Ms. Joy Fattori officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Serving as Mrs.King’s pallbearers will be her grandsons; Colin “Bud” Renfro, Darren Renfro, Lance King, Chad King, and great-grandsons; Nick Renfro and Chance King.
