Obituary for Bobby Lee "Bob" Stone

Bobby Lee "Bob" Stone
Bobby (Bob) Lee Stone went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2019. He died peacefully at his home near Corsicana, TX. He had recently returned home after a lengthy hospitalization. Bob was born March 7, 1938 in Canton, TX and attended Van High School in Van, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife Lee Ora Rumbelow Stone, his father Coy Dairl Stone, his mother Mae Frances Oliver Stone, and his infant sister Carolynn Ann Stone. He was the beloved brother of Gwendolyn Fern Ferrell Johnsville, AR, Nancy Jean Conner and Martha Sue Costello (Donald) Hodgenville, KY along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. He is also survived by his life-long friend and Godson Samuel Zamora, his wife Esmeralda Ruby Zamora and their 5 children: Shanlee, Zoey, Samuel Jr, Alexa and Alexis Zamora who lovingly called him "Paw Paw Bob".

Bob volunteered for the draft and served in the U.S. Army where he received permanent service-connected injuries while stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. After the service Bob worked as a Private Investigator for a while before he decided to follow in his dads footsteps and work at the sheriff’s department. Bob was very Proud to be a free Master Mason and Shiner in which he served 50+ years. Bob also served in several capacities within the Corsicana School District for many years before retiring and earning his famous name "Parking Lot Bob".

Bob enjoyed listening to old country and Gospel music along with singing Gospel music. He especially enjoyed listening to the late George Jones and Jimmie Davis. He was an active member of the Cedar Creek MBC Church, and served as a Deacon and song leader for a number of years. He loved the lord and enjoyed reading his Holy Bible every day. Bob was always available when people in his community needed help. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed living in the quiet peaceful country, wearing overalls and taking care of his miniature ponies. In past years he and Lee owned and enjoyed riding horses. Bob and Lee loved to travel to horse show competitions throughout the area where he was a judge.

Bobs wishes were to be cremated and that his ashes be buried beneath his favorite and almost rare Elberta Peach Tree at his son’s property.

The memorial service will be held at his church the morning of May 11, 2019 at 10:30. Donations in his memory can be sent to the Cedar Creek MBC Church, 4094 FM 709 Corsicana, TX 75110.
