He loved picking on his older sisters. He also loved music, laughing and seeing his family happy. He was always working at being a “hell raiser” when he was younger and became more stubborn when he got older. You could always find him playing with his grandchildren all 15 of them, his snippy, snappy Chihuahuas, or his beloved cat.
Hollis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He loved anything that involved, his Chihuahuas, his precious Dallas cowboys and the color purple. He was the peacemaker in the family.
While working for the city of Dallas as a street cleaner he had acquired a CB handle. His handle was “Wet Spot” because he would leave wet spots on the streets he cleaned.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 sisters, 3 wives and step-sons, Raymond Paul Ayscue and Alvin T. Stanley.
Hollis is survived by his children; Hollistell Johnson, Hollene Willett, Jeanine Cathey and husband Sonny, and Kathy Pate, his step-children; Alvin Stanley, David Stanely and wife Tamela, James Ayscue and Michael Ayscue. He will be loved forever by all those he left behind, including 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Hanks officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Stanley, Derrick Watson, James Mercer, Sr., Homer Johnson and 2 alternates. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery.
