Obituary for Gordon George

Mr. George, a retired Construction Engineer, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was a graduate of Corsicana High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Yvonne Estes, of Corsicana.
He entered the University of Texas at Austin in 1946, and graduated in 1950, with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He worked in heavy Civil Construction, Process Plant Construction, and retired as Director of Construction Quality Control for the Fluor Corporation.
Mr. George was a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Louisiana, and California. He was a long-time member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
He and Yvonne are remembered by many friends as avid Sailors and Boaters.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, and is survived by daughters, Ann Ellen Smith of Mesquite, and Catherine Kutz of Sandpoint, Idaho; three grand children and seven great grandchildren. He has sisters and a brother in the Mesquite area.
Mr. George was a member of the Church of Christ, and will be cremated with no services planned.
