Obituary for Anita Davila

Anita G. Davila, 92, of Corsicana passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 26, 1926 in Kerens, Texas. She graduated from Kerens High School.

She was a homemaker for many years and then worked at Navarro Regional Hospital for 16 years as a Nurse’s Aide. She loved caring for her patient’s and in 1985, she received the National Frist Humanitarian Award in Nashville, TN, the company’s highest award. It recognized her caring spirit and devotion to her job.

She loved working in her flower beds and could turn a dried twig back into a blooming flower without much effort. You always knew which house belonged to her by all the pretty plants and flowers. She enjoyed visiting the sick and going to Church every day when her health allowed it.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and friend, Andres Charles Davila Sr.; sons, Randy, Freddie and Floyd Davila; father, Juan Garcia; mother, Rosa Rodriguez and step father, Pablo Aguilar; brothers, Manuel Garcia, Charles and Salvador Aguilar; sisters, Esther Alexander and Angelina Salazar. She was the last surviving sibling.

She is survived by sons, Andy Davila Jr. (Bonnie) of Glen Flora and Gilbert Davila; daughters, Mercy Alonzo (Sunday) and Belinda Moreno (Lewis) of Midlothian; grandchildren, Dr. Andrea Davila Muegge and Andrew Davila III of Glen Flora, Michael Alonzo, Rachel Lovett (Robbie) of Jasper, Devin Moreno of Carrolton, and Delaney Moreno of Lubbock, Joshua Davila (Ronnie) of Snyder and Christian Davila of Purdon; great grandchildren, Liv Muegge of Glen Flora, Randy, Connor and Allison Alonzo, Elisha and Ezra Lovett of College Station and Eliana Lovett of Jasper, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm on Wednesday, August the 22nd at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, August the 23rd at 2:00pm with Father Marco Rangel and Deacon Lewis Palos officiating. Christian burial will be at Calvary Cemetery following Mass.

Pallbearers will be Paul Moreno, Earl Alexander, Salvador Moreno, Jimmy Henthorn, Charles and Tony Aguilar.
