Condolence From: Lewis & Donna Picone
Condolence: Buddy will always be a part of our childrens' childhood. Lewis worked for him during Christmas when he was driving a truck, just so he would be home . And between trucking jobs, too. Buddy had Lewis go shopping with him for presents for our girls one year. He headed for the dolls, but Lewis quickly told him, no, they are not girly. He bought them Tonka 4x4 trucks. They kept them for years. He loved kids, And he will be missed for his antics at the Waffle House too. He was a good man, and a good friend. Rest easy Buddy, you and Billie are together again. Prayers for the family.

Condolence From: Polly Martin Thomas
Condolence: In 1956 I worked for Norris-Hamilton Motors in Corsicana on W. 3rd Ave. where the "Remington" is now located.I was quite young, still a teenager, and worked in the office.
Mr. Duren Norris and Mr. Snead Hamilton were the owners of the business and the local General Motors new car dealer. That was in the day of the big, long, beautiful cars loaded with chrome.
Buddy Eaton was one of the mechanics, and a well respected one at that. The only other person I can remember from the shop was Henry Chavoya, also a good mechanic. Beverly Bowden Orr (CHS 54) had helped me get the job there. She also worked in the office.
I remember Buddy's wife,Billie. She and her sisters worked at one or more of what we called the "dime stores" along Beaton Street.
Everything I mentioned here is a beautiful memory to me. Life was much simpler then and much more fun as well. Beaton Street was totally retail then from one end to the other and the sidewalks were crowded, especially on Saturdays, with shoppers. It was extremely difficult to even get a parking place on Beaton in those days.
I'm sure that when Buddy drove that wrecker thru those golden gates, he did not let even a small fleck of that gold get on his precious wrecker.
RIP, Buddy, Henry and all the others from NHM. Everyone that owns a car mourns the death of a good, reliable mechanic, as well as that of an friendly, interesting, and good person to boot.
