Obituary for Stanley Gorman

Stanley Gorman
Mr. Stanley Mac Gorman, 79, of Lampasas passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Lampasas, Texas. He was born on February 3, 1939.
A hard working man and fatherly foundation to a large and loving family to the very end, Stanley Mac Gorman was known by many names to many people. Mac to his friends, Stanley to his peers, Uncle Macaroni to imaginative nephews, Dad to his children, and PopPop or Papa Mac to his grandchildren. He was a born leader in all aspects of life, as executive with Southwestern Bell and AT&T, a business owner, and a spiritual guide for so many. He taught us all the value of perseverance through hardship and adversity, no matter how difficult or heartbreaking your trials may be. While he is now with God, his legacy lives on through his family reminding us every day the love and hard work it takes to be a true servant of God. Every July 4th, the celebration of Independence will take a new meaning for us, not just a celebration of American Independence, but one true American’s freedom from a struggling body, free to finally join his Father in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Nell Sloan Gorman, his parents, Stanley and Marguerite Gorman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gay Gorman; children, Jan and husband BB of San Angelo, Stan Gorman and wife Linda of Waller, and Brett Gorman and wife Breck of Shallowater; grandchildren, Clifton and Summer Williams, four great grandchildren of Victor,MT, Kevin Williams, three great grandchildren of Mountain Home, TX, Kyle Williams of Clearwater, FL, Heidi and Slate Williams, three great grandchildren of Ozona, TX, Marissa Gorman and fiancé Justin Brinkman of Caldwell, TX, Brady Gorman of Shallowater, TX, and Brodey and Makala Gorman, one great grandson of Shallowater, TX; sisters, Margie and Ted Taylor of Corsicana, Debra Gorman of Corsicana and Melissa Woehleke of Marlin, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the office of Dr. Mark Lane and to the nursing staff of Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas for their excellent care.

Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions to either the National Kidney Foundation or the Mary Kay Charitable Foundation
