Johnny Lavoid Follis went to his heavenly home June 2, 2018. He was born July 25, 1926 in Jester, TX to Jack Follis and Ola Gladys (Parker) Follis.
He served as 2nd Class Seaman in the U.S. Navy on the USS Guam during W.W.II from May 1944 to May 1946. He also served in the Navy reserve from May 1946 to May 1954 when he was honorably discharged from the Navy. He went into the School of Carpentry where he became a master cabinet builder.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a Christian man who loved God and his family. Lots of people knew him as “Shorty”.
He was a friendly easy going man who never met a stranger. He could always be found in his shop tinkering or building wonderful things. He loved to fish and work in his garden. He loved to joke around, always had a cup of coffee in his hand and always telling everyone when he was hungry, he would say "I haven’t eaten in four days.” He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
