Mr. Richard Neil Clay, 84, of Mansfield passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Isle at Watercrest Nursing Home in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on January 15, 1934 in Corsicana, Texas to Clarence W. and Ruby (Owen) Clay.
He was a Christian, husband, father, and brother who was an active member of the Sojourners for many years, along with his wife, Carole. They traveled the country in their R.V. enjoying God’s handiwork and sharing the Gospel of Christ along the way. He was a MSgt. In the United States Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1994. He worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Schulte Clay; his parents, Clarence and Ruby Clay Harris; and brothers, Billy Clay and Bobby Clay.
He is survived by his son, Barry Clay and wife Melissa; daughters, Carolyn Medina and husband Robert, Angela Johnson and Beck Houchins; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will be held following the service at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Cayuga, Texas. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
