Billy T. McDaniel, 86, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born on June 21, 1931 in Tipton, Oklahoma to William Dee and Clara Bessie (Mayfield) McDaniel.
Billy was a true gentleman. He was honest, kind-hearted and of good morals. He loved his wife and cared for her throughout their entire marriage, and a loving father. They enjoyed traveling together to many places, enjoyed square dancing and playing dominos and card games with many friends; Al, Francis, Bailey, Jean, Frank and Marie. He served his country honorably during the Korean War with his service in the United States Air Force. This led him to earn his pilot’s license later in life and building a collection of books about military aircraft. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He supported his family by being in the printing industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara McDaniel; parents-in-law, Bill and Paula Blake, and daughter-in-law, Tresa McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janett McDaniel; sons, Murray McDaniel and wife Rhonda, Larry McDaniel and wife Sharon, and Mark McDaniel; grandchildren, Chad McDaniel, Stephanie Stone and husband Grayson, Zachary Worthington, and Stacey Glaze; and great-grandchildren, Kloe Rose Stone and Lily Grace Stone.
Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. with Dr. Mark Luera officiating. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will by Murray McDaniel, Larry McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, Chad McDaniel, Joel Blake, and Anthony (Dusty) Blake.
