Obituary for Mary Frances Rozelle (Williams)
Mary Frances Rozelle, a long-time resident of Corsicana, died Friday the 31st of March in her home after a long battle with cancer.
Born February 26, 1942 in St. Louis Missouri, Mary graduated High School from Our Lady of Good Council Catholic School in Dallas in 1959 and attended the University of Texas at Arlington.
Mary married Jerry Rozelle on June 16, 1962 and enjoyed over 54 years of marriage.
Mary was a fixture in the Corsicana volunteer community as she participated in many volunteer organizations including Meals on Wheels, Alter Society, Pink Lady, Food for Fitness, Council of the Arts, and many others. Most notably she volunteered with the Texas Youth Commission at the Texas State Home on Community Advisory Council for 30 years receiving the TYC statewide volunteer of the year award in 1999 for her fundraising and volunteer work.
Mary loved traveling with family and friends. She enjoyed working the box office and being involved with and attending plays at the Corsicana Warehouse Living Arts Center. She always had a smile to give and compassion for those in need and for many close friends in the community, as well as a love and compassion for helping animals.
She is preceded in death by her father Benjamin Williams, mother Dorothy Williams, and sister Katherine Ann Campisi.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Rozelle, children, Jay and Diane Rozelle, Kevin and Kathy Rozelle, Tim Rozelle and fiancé Cynthia Oden, Mike and Jennifer Rozelle, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews Johnny Campisi, Steven Campisi, Chris and Kim Campisi, several grandnephews, and grandnieces, all of whom live in Texas, and brought great joy to her later years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Navarro College Nursing Scholarship Fund, Navarro College, 3200 W 7th Avenue, Corsicana, TX 75110.
A visitation / rosary will be held at Corley’s Funeral Home on Thursday April 6th at 7 O’clock and the Memorial service will be on Friday April 7th at First United Methodist Church in Corsicana at 2 O’clock P.M.
